Now retired from the business world, I enjoy the challenges of making meaningful photographs, documenting the world around me. Photography for me is a means of creative self-expression. I make pictures for myself first, but at the same time, want to draw viewers into a connection with the photograph and the captured moment of time.
Inspiration for choice of subject is finding pictures that show candid moments. I aim too shoot photographs that call attention to detail that others may overlook, which helps me engage more fully and to express my interpretation of the world.
In the age of digital photography, it is easy to focus on technique, camera settings and all the available options for post processing, but for me, the most important quality of a photograph is to evoke an emotional response.
